Agricultural Biotechnology

Chile has a long history of field trials with transgenic seeds. However, to date, no product has been approved for domestic commercialization. All transgenic seeds imported for multiplication must be produced under strict field controls and re-exported, therefore the general farming community does not benefit from this technology
